About

Shaler Keenum loves stories. He grew up reading, which quickly turned to writing, and now has turned into writing and directing films. His award winning films have played dozens of festivals across the United States and abroad and he works professionally making short documentaries about Texas farmers and ranchers for Texas Farm Bureau.

Shaler studied film and philosophy at Baylor University and has published a paper on film ontology that considers how to interpret images in the age of generative AI. Shaler enjoys considering philosophical ideas throughout his creative work and existential themes are often present in his films.

When Shaler isn’t writing or making films, he enjoys reading and watching stories in any form. He also enjoys traveling with his family, going for a run, and playing with his dog, Echo.
